Blue Marilyn is a mixed media composition from the Bill Boards series.
A fragment of the photo of Marilyn Monroe taken by Bert Stern during 'The Last Sitting' forms the basis of this series.

Inspired by serial portraits by Andy Warhol, each work is based on a single image. Unlike screen printing, the Bill Board series is made with reproduction techniques that make each composition unique and original.

The image is transferred to canvas and finished with oil paint and pastels. The rough lines and torn edges remind the viewer of a worn vintage billboard, but the overall impression is tranquil and gentle.

Signed and varnished, the artwork is delivered with a certificat of authenticity.
