Triptych; 3 works each 13x13cm framed in 25x25cm wooden frames.

This surreal triptych can be read as a short story but each element is also an unique artwork on its own.

The background elements are from 17th century flemish paintings.
Juxtaposed are illustrations of works by Peter Paul Rubens and Jan Brueghel de Oude, angels from ' The Feast of Venus', flowers and butterflies.

The angelic black and white couples reinforce the empyrean tone of the compositions.
These images are from 1930's postcards, written and sent by a young Frenchman to his girlfriend Lily.

Signed, varnished and delivered with a certificate of authenticity.
