'Carita Sisters'
March 2021
Triptych; 3 works each 20x20cm framed in 25x25cm wooden frames.
This minimalist black and white triptych can be read as a short story but each element is also an unique artwork on its own.
The black and white photographies are by Harry Meerson, a French fashion photographer, for Carita, 1970; the cuttings are from a 1981 photography magazine; ' Zoom'.
The ripped black and white paper small portraits added to these black and white images are details of a photo from a 1950's 'Match' magazines.
The Carita sisters, Maria and Rosy, built an empire and revolutionised the world of beauty and hairstyle.
They were said to be the first stylists who would consider a woman's face and features while creating a personalised hairstyle.
Signed, varnished and delivered with a certificate of authenticity.
