La Masquo and the Love Letters
2021
Assemblage with the following elements:
A vintage framed portrait.
A paper cut out of a bird's face.
Gas mask from world war II.
Bunch of love letters.
The Provencal Masquo (the mask) is not necessarily a woman.
It can be a man. Masquos, however, differ from humans in that they have the power to cast spells.
You shouldn't speak ill of them. They were very powerful and could take revenge on humans, cause illness and even death.
Altered Art, assemblage, surreal, dada ... bizarre, bizarre.
I have been collecting objects, found and purchased, at brocantes and antiquaires.
These objects belong to natural history, geology, ethnography, archaeology, religious or historical relics.
By assembling and superposing details of these objects, works of art and antiquities, they tell new tales and stories.
From 17 Dec 2021 - 19 Feb 2022 my works will be on show in the Cabinet de Curiosité at the Centre Cultural Chabran in Draguignan.
My art, roots and personal relics will mix with tales of the traditional heritage of the Provence.
Art altéré, assemblage, surréaliste, dada... bizarre, bizarre.
Je collectionne des objets, trouvés et achetés, chez brocantes et antiquaires.
Ces objets appartiennent à l'histoire naturelle, à la géologie, à l'ethnographie, à l'archéologie, aux reliques religieuses ou historiques.
En assemblant et en superposant les détails de ces objets, œuvres d'art et antiquités, ils racontent de nouveaux contes et histoires.
Du 17 décembre 2021 au 19 février 2022 mes œuvres seront exposées au Cabinet de Curiosité du Centre Culturel Chabran à Draguignan.
Mon art, mes racines et mes reliques personnelles se mêleront aux récits du patrimoine traditionnel de la Provence.
