Tattoo is a peaceful surreal portrait on a serene blue background.
Half of the portrait shows a young woman with her eyes closed, the other half flowers and roses.
The face and body are semi transparent and show different juxtaposed layers; bones, skin and flower tattoos.
The composition is a mixture of paint, transfers and collage.
The transferred images, the tattoos, are from vintage magazines.
The face is a paper collage; an authentic illustration from a vintage magazine.
The work shows frailty in the subject as well as in its structure.
Some paper edges are torn and not entirely glued in order to obtain this fragile aspect.
